Kitchen Before and After

I replaced this dated kitchen with factory-made cabinets, new appliances, and new layout to give the homeowner a more functional work area. Although factory-made cabinets were used, working together with the homeowner, we added touches like the custom crown molding detail to enhance the space.

Teenager Desk

painted teenager's desk, rope moulding, flute accents

I returned to a customer's home to find this painted desk that I built 15 years ago, and it was in perfect condition. I had cut the rope molding and flute accents by hand. The young woman for whom it was made has since moved away and married. Maybe she will give this heirloom desk to a child of her own someday.

Craftsman to Artist

Tom Torlish, woodworking artist

Customers have referred to me as a craftsman and an artist many times. These remarks have always been great compliments. Recently I came upon a quote from American lawyer, Louis Nizer (1902-1994):

"A man who works with his hands is a laborer; a man who works with his hands and his brain is a craftsman; but a man who works with his hands and his brain and his heart is an artist."
Do you have an idea for a project that I can put my hands, brain and heart to work for you?
